Fee for 6-day Midwifery Assistant Workshops:

Fees for 6-day Advanced Midwifery Workshop:
The fee for the 6-day workshop is $965. This includes all classes and CEU fees, the lab/supplies fee and two meals a day, breakfast and supper. The Farm Store provides a variety of foods, salads and homemade soups for lunches. Supper will be a delicious homecooked vegetarian meal every night. Fee for Workshop for Midwives: Common Sense and Tradition
The fee for this workshop is $785. (Discount fee of $735 for Shenandoah University students who sign up before Feb 1, 2009) This includes all classes and CEUs from ACNM and MEAC , plus two meals a day, breakfast and dinner for five days, plus snacks of fruit, coffee and tea anytime during the workshop. The Farm Store provides a variety of foods, salads and homemade soups for lunches. Supper will be a delicious homecooked vegetarian meal every night. Accommodations are available within our community. See “Accommodations” paragraph below.

Fee for Watsu/Water Exercise Class is $35.

Fee for Herb Workshop is $475 (includes three days of workshop classes plus three evening herbal presentations, lab fee, a 200 + page illustrated herbal notebook, warm breakfast with options for cereals, yogert, and fruit, coffee and teas, and a home-cooked vegetarian supper on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Suppers will include delicious culinary herbs grown in our home gardens. The Herb Workshop is held at The Farm Community Center. During this workshop you will have the option of staying at the Community Center Dorm for $18/night/student or renting a private room for $25/night/student. (3.1 ACNM CEUs awarded, inclusive of 2.25 Pharmacology CEU's).

Fee for IV Therapy Class:
This two-day class will be $285. This includes the lab fee and breakfast for the two days. You will be able to go to the Farm store for lunch and supper.

Fee for Neonatal Resuscitation Class:
This two-day class will be $285. This includes breakfast for the two days. You will be able to go to the Farm store for lunch and supper.

Validation of attendance:

At the end of each workshop you will receive a certificate of attendance with a list of the skills introduced and practiced during that workshop.

The workshops Common Sense and Tradition: Workshop for Midwives, The Advanced Midwifery Workshop and the Herb Workshop offer Continuing Education Units from Midwifery Education and Accreditation Council (MEAC) and/or from American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)

Workshop for Midwives: Common Sense and Tradition offers2.8 (28 contact hours of ACNM CEU's. or 3.2 (32 contact hours of MEAC CEU's.

The Herb workshop offers 3.1 (31 contact hours) of ACNM CEUs (inclusive of 2.25 Pharmacology CEU's)

The Advanced Midwifery Workshop offers 4.1 (41 contact hours) of MEAC CEU's.

The IV Therapy Workshop offers .6 (6 contact hours) of MEAC CEU's.

ALACE trained Doulas will receive their yearly CEU requirement for attending our week long workshop.

Accommodations:
We offer several different options for housing while you are here:
  1. There are 8 beds in a small rustic dorm cabin next to the Farm Clinic. Dorm is free for the first 8 students who enroll.
  2. There are private rooms in the homes of our Farm residents that are very comfortable and within close walking distance of the clinic for $25/night/student, $35/night/non-student.
  3. Other housing possibilities, including one cabin, are available within our community if you want to bring your family. Call us for information.

Transportation to The Farm from the Airport:
The Farm Clinic is 65 miles from Nashville. If you fly, you should fly to Nashville. We will arrange a shuttle run the day before and the day the workshop begins. At the end of the workshop there will be a shuttle run to the airport. Contact us if you plan to use our shuttle.

We have orientation at 4:30 p.m. at the Farm Clinic/Midwifery Center on the first day of each workshop, so you should fly into Nashville before 1:30 p.m. in order to be here and get settled in your living space by 4:30 p.m.
At the end of the workshops, please do not plan your flights out of Nashville before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday or before 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Shuttle cost will be $85/person or child, each way, to and from the airport. If you bring a baby you need to bring a car seat. Plan to meet next to the information desk at the baggage claim station at the airport. If you plan to use our shuttle run service, be sure to contact us by e-mail at least 2 weeks before the beginning of the workshop.
