Herb Workshop:May 21-23, 2015
This 3 day workshop is taught by Wendell Combest, Ph.D. Professor of Pharmacology, Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Combest will present an evidence-based approach focusing upon the chemistry, pharmacology and therapeutics of medicinal plants used by women and midwives in the U.S for women’s health and reproduction.
Other topics include aromatherapy, the art of tea making, and evidence for the therapeutic benefits of gardens and botanical approaches to treating GI and cardiovascular disorders. This workshop will include a combination of lecture, and hands-on herbal compounding and some garden walks identifying medicinal herbs grown on The Farm. The workshop is sponsored by Shenandoah University Nurse Midwifery Program.
